Procrastination Master....Not This Time!!

I am a self professed procrastinator. I will admit it, happily! And this procrastination thing has been working out pretty well for me thus far. However, during this semester of nursing procrastination has not been working out so well due to the very hectic scheduling and plethora of assignments. So my good friend Darla and I decided to work our hiney's off every day during our reading break to get some stuff done and out of the way.

Now before you get all excited and think that we slaved away for like a week strait, I should clarify that the reading break at my university is a whopping 2 days! :) But none-the-less I have been more productive during those 2 days off than I have been this whole year!

I spent two fun-filled days at Darla's house. Me in front of my computer, Darla in front of hers and we tackled 90% of our assignments for the remainder of this semester! Yah, that's right, 90%. Good bye procrastination master, hello get-ahead-of-things-girl!

We created teaching plans, outlines, overheads and everything needed to teach lessons in classrooms for school aged children. Then we tackled teaching topics for the seniors community group we have to attend weekly, all the while still managing to entertain her very lively 4 year old son, whom I love, but he is SOOOO active and goes just a little mental when I come over. I think the little guy is going through Stacey withdrawals because he demanded to talk to me on the phone last night so that he could invite me over to his house.

Anyways, I cannot tell you how unbelievably good it feels to be ahead of the game. It has spurred me to get ahead on even more things and so tonight I finished a paper that isn't even due for like a week and a half! That is SO not like me! I totally could have wasted the two days off and slept in and really just generally blown off the time! But I didn't! It actually feels really good to know that I finally have things under control and I have reduced my stress significantly.

I concur. Lowered stress.....ahhhhh.

Zen.

And then that zen feeling goes away when I think about making the gr 4/5 girls chant VAGINA, VAGINA, VAGINA to get over the weirdness of the word.

I hope we can tackle this other stupid paper ahead of time too. That would be nice.

I can completely identify with you on this one! I can be such a procrastinator... and I did it through most of the four years... but I does feel good to be on top of things and even ahead! Keep it up! December will be here before you know it!
