Sense of "Impending DOOM"!

In my pathophysiology class yesterday we were covering defects of the heart. When we began to talk about the topic of heart attacks, my teacher mentioned that most people who are at the early stage of a heart attack will experience a crushing feeling in their chest, and a sense of "impending doom". This is strange to me because I am sure I was not having a heart attack on Monday after my patho class, but as soon as my teacher began to hand back our exams from last week, that I wrote about most likely failing, I began to get a crushing feeling in my chest, and a feeling of "impending doom", it's amazing how a simple thing like getting back an exam can cause one to feel symptoms of a heart attack. Well anyways, I am happy to report that I did not in fact fail my first exam ever, I passed, I didn't ace it by any means but I passed, and I passed with a nice little cushion of a grade so in case I don't do so hot on the next exam, I have some leeway with my grade. Phew.....*sigh*...crushing chest pain subsiding....feeling of "impending doom" fading, until the next exam that is!

Questioning my sanity

It is times like these that I begin to question my sanity. Times like what you ask?
Like these:
1)I had an exam yesterday, I am sure I bombed it, and if you know me, you know I don't bomb exams.
2) I have an exam tomorrow, completely short answers...soooo many theories. Bring on the cramming!!
3) A paper due on Monday that I have yet to start...hmm maybe I should have done that sooner!
4) I get two new patient assignments tomorrow that I have to research and know top to bottom by Thursday for my 2 days of weekly hospital rotation, which by the way starts at the crack of dawn!!
5) I work this weekend, as always, and will get very little done.

I am feeling a little stressed right now...can you tell??

So it is times like these that I begin to question my sanity and ask myself why on earth do I want to be a nurse? What in the world was I thinking!

But then the hectic week will pass, and they will give us a week's grace where we will remember why we love nursing so much and then they will slam us with 3 exams in 3 days and the vicious cycle continues! This is a hard concept to explain to people who are not in nursing. But I tried to give you a glimpse. So please excuse my crazy rantings.

Ok, enough ranting and procrastinating, back to studying!

I BOUGHT A NEW CAR!!!

So here she is!! In all her glory! This is my new car! Well, new to me. She is a 2002 Honda Civic LX. Black, as you can see ,with a grey LEATHER interior! It's fully loaded, automatic, power EVERYTHING, and it has AC!!!! Yippeee! Some of you that know me well know that I have wanted a Honda Civic for pretty much as long as I have been alive! Well, at least since I started having an interest in cars! I am a simple girl, with simple dreams. So my dream was finally fulfilled yesterday. I am now penniless and in full time school! Excellent! But I have my dream car and I can't wait to drive her around! I get to pick her up from the dealership tomorrow evening and I can hardly contain myself. Thanks to my good friend James who helped talk the sales guy down $2100!! It was amazing! Anyways, I will post better pictures later on when I have some good snap shots of me with my new car!

P.S. Karyn, the Sundance is all yours baby!!
